In 2016, Katie and I took two weeks to travel to New Zealand. We stopped in Auckland, Rotorua, Wellington, and Queenstown. Each place had its own character, but the one thing every city and region had in common was an incredible, natural beauty. I loved seeing the jagged coastlines in Auckland, the quaint charm of Rotorua and Hobbiton, the windy southernmost capital of Wellington, and the soaring peaks of Queenstown. But one of my favorite things from the entire trip was a boat ride through Milford Sound, a fjord decorated by thousands of waterfalls. The falls appear randomly every time it rains, and so every trip through the sound is unique. Absolutely breathtaking.
